Each type of mini-quest has its own scoring peculiarities. Unlike other game modes, the player earns points in Quest by performing actions that contribute to fulfilling the mini-quests' objectives. In the PC, Mac, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of Bejeweled 3, revealing the first Relic (by completing any four of its mini-quests) unlocks Diamond Mine. The game returns to the game menu afterward and then places a golden wreath around the crystal ball that represents Quest Mode, with a label on the wreath reading "100%". Upon restoring all five Lost Relics of Bejeweled, a congratulatory cutscene plays in which a brief fireworks display occurs above the shrine. The menu also tracks and displays the player's progress in percentage form except for the Nintendo DS version of Bejeweled 3, this does not appear until the player reveals the fifth artifact. The player can navigate between unlocked artifacts by pressing or selecting certain buttons and the Relic icons on the Quest menu. Completing at least four of an artifact's mini-quests unlocks the next Relic and its mini-quests. When the player accesses Quest Mode for the first time, only the first Relic and all its mini-quests are available. The objective is to restore the artifacts by completing various mini-games called mini-quests. According to the Bejeweled 3 README file, the Relics were darkened by time, causing them to appear as transparent objects with shimmering outlines. Quest is different from the other game modes in Bejeweled 3, as it takes place in a shrine that houses five large artifacts called the Lost Relics of Bejeweled.
